Ferry News

  • Clipper Race Sunday 29th June Update
  • Swilly Ferry Terminated
  • SMS Text Service

On Sunday 29th June 2014, the Lough Foyle Ferry Company will be operating normal service.
The departure of the Clipper Race and the demonstration by the Red Arrows is scheduled for mid afternoon and we  are working in conjunction with the Gardai and event organisers to ensure minimal disturbance to the ferry’s schedule.

The only sailing which will possibly be affected is the 3pm sailing but we will do the crossing as soon as we can.
If you are planning on travelling to Greencastle for the event please allow additional time for parking as road closures will be in operation from 12pm with Greencastle village closed to traffic, but ample parking will be provided in the area surronding Greencastle and into Moville with a Park and Ride service also in operation.
If you are wishing to use the Lough Foyle Ferry please make the stewards aware that the ferry is your destination and you will able to gain access. Finally, parking will not be available in the ferry terminal as we will be keeping the area clear to prevent delays with the service.

The Lough Foyle Ferry Company regret that we will no longer be tendering  for the Ferry service between Buncrana to Rathmullan. We have tried to operate the service with reduced financial aid from the Donegal County Council but the Company can no longer sustain the service. We would like to thank all the customers who have supported the service since we started in May 2004.

We have a new SMS service to allow customers to check we are sailing normally.
