impressive ruin, with nave dating from 1100. The date
474 carved on the west door was done so in the 18th
century. Nearby, the small tomb of Muiredach O'Heney
can be seen - it is said that sand gathered from his
tomb bring good luck to the recipient. The Church
is located in Banagher Glen, a magnificent lake and
forest located three miles from Dungiven. Spectacular
views can be enjoyed by the visitor, whilst partaking
in the challenging walk to Altnaheglish Reservoir.
An ideal location for those interested in investigating
flora and fauna and ornithologists.
