The Giants Causeway and Visitor Centre is undoubtedly Ireland's top attraction, and designated as a World Heritage Site. Some refer to the geological phenomenon as the eighth wonder of the world. It is generally understood that the Causeway's six sided basalt columns were formed as a result of volcanic eruptions, but it has been whispered that they were formed by giant Finn McCool and his attempts to build a path to Scotland to battle with a rival giant, Brenandonner. The Causeway provides the visitor with much to see and do, from walks and tours around the unique features such as the Wishing Well and Giants Boot, to indulging in the myths and legends told through the Visitor Centre's audio visual presentation.
