Further along the coast from Bellarena, the village
of Magilligan hosts the grave of Denis O'Hampsey, the famous
blind harper, in the churchyard of St Aidans. This notable
landmark also includes the tomb of St Aidan himself! Nearby
the Lough Foyle ferry travels from Magilligan Point to Greencastle
in County Donegal, a distance of only 1.6km, and is an excellent
means to travel the North West. The Martello Tower also
stands at Magilligan Point, a well preserved monument from
the Napoleonic Wars.
